Caribou Ranch Observations
The Caribou Ranch Artist in Residence in August of 2019 was one special and amazing experience. This is my painting donation to Boulder County Open Space.
Thirty two different arthropods are present along with a full moon, Western garter snake skin, and bits of botanical life - all witnessed during my time there. I had actually recorded 72 different insects and spiders but there was just not enough room for everyone so I picked the most memorable and those that fit well together. The composition is modelled after Kandinsky's "Composition Number Seven." It is on an 18" x 24" acrylic on wood panel.
