Millipede in Pink - Acrylic on Wood, 2016
While in Grenada in January of 2014, I found a millipede climbing on a stone wall, eating greenery. What was amazing to me about the creature was that he or she was about 8" in length. This was, by far, the biggest millipede I had seen in my life.
The brilliant pink bougainvillea I passed every day was also memorable so I decided to put two of my favorite visual memories together in this painting.
